Replacement

Repair or replace?

A big decision deserves a clear plan. Start with your system, your home, and your budget.

Your questions, answered
Should I repair or replace my system?

Look at the age of the equipment, recent repairs, comfort, and energy bills. Ask for a written repair option and a replacement option. House age alone cannot answer this question.

What size system do I need?

Ask for a home load calculation. That is a check of how much heating and cooling your home needs. Square feet alone do not show the full picture.

How do I compare proposals?

Compare the model, size, labor, duct work, permits, removal, testing, and warranty. Make sure each bid covers the same work. A lower price may leave out work you need.

Compare your written offers.

Your next three steps

1Find the equipment age and service records.

2Compare bids with the same scope of work.

3Ask how the new system will be tested.
